Turtle Conservation in Malaysia
The BBC series ‘Last Chance To See’ recently featured the Selingan Turtle Island.
While you will observe baby turtles emerging from the eggs beneath the sand, as a visitor to the Turtle Island Park, there are other activities that will make an impression on you for the rest of your life such as turtle watching, bird watching and snorkeling.
Once you have made prior arrangements, you will be spending the night at Pulau Selingan Island Resort with the preferred months to visit being March through to September. While here you will get access to privatized facilities. As you stroll around this magnificent island, you’ll be taken aback at the number of turtles that will have landed for the time you were there. It is amazing to see their mini tracks left in the soothing cold sand. As this is a very fragile ecosystem as it is amazing, one needs to arrange for accommodation in advance to avoid let downs.
